Description
AS&M has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager - Orion Solar Array Wing (SAW) Camera to join the team in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
Perform project management and engineering functions for Orion Solar Array Wing (SAW) Camera upgrade development, including requirements development, hardware development, manufacturing, assembly, and test
Manage the engineering team for the specific Camera upgrade development subsystem
Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support
Monitor cost performance for their subsystem development against established plans
Develop and maintain company and customer financial reports
Oversee and develop schedules (MS Project and Smartsheet), procedures, work instructions and process flows
Develop risks and risk mitigation plans for rollup into the higher-level risk system
Interact frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, and operational customers
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school
10 years' of relevant experience
Experience managing and leading engineering projects
Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating
Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels
Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion
Knowledge and understanding of MS Project and Smartsheet tools; and generate PowerPoint charts
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as
mechanical and electrical system design,
engineering drawings and sketches,
material selection,
environmental testing, and
office software
Requisition Preferences
Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork
Experience with NASA processes
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
