Description

AS&M has an exciting opportunity for a Mission Manager to join the team in Hampton, Virginia, supporting the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract at NASA Langley Research Center.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that ESD investments successfully deliver the selected baseline science within cost and schedule.

  • Conducting monthly assessments of each assigned project and developing a forward-looking analysis of project path.

  • Integrating financial, technical, risk, and schedule inputs into a succinct assessment for the Program Office, SMD/ESD senior leadership, and with related PIs and Project Managers, including presenting such material to Senior NASA Leadership which can be used to make decisions regarding project execution.

Qualifications

Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.

  • Spaceflight and/or airborne hardware experience.

  • Demonstrated experience performing independent assessments of NASA Class C and D spaceflight projects.

  • Ability to independently evaluate project metrics including schedule, cost data, management, risks and mitigations, and liens and threats.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
